Christmas 2008
Skyping with Tia Natalie, Tio Tony, Uncle Dave, Aunt Robin, and cousin Katie in California.
Tia Natalie made Carlos a "thneed" for Christmas. (If you don't know what that is, read "The Lorax" by Dr. Seuss.) Carlos immediately wrapped himself up in it and then climbed into a box.
In Guatemala, people put the baby Jesus into the nativity scene on Christmas Eve. We do that now, too.

U.P Trip - Sept/Oct 2008
Kevin and Carlos had their first kayaking experience together in Chassell (near Houghton).
We stayed with our good friends, the Fillmores, while we were in Marquette. Carlos and Jack had so much fun together!

Carlos likes to play games at pbskids.org. He's gotten really good at them.
Kevin performed a few times as part of the downtown Holland Street Performer Series. The series is every Thursday from 6-8:00 p.m. during the summer months, where you can see dozens of performers doing their thing!
We are a Guatemalan American family! :)On the night of the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics, we had our own parade of nations. We waived every country flag that we have in the house and walked around and around our living room. (This was his idea.) Carlos was sooooo into it.
Carlos tried to stay up to see the Guatemalan team and the U.S. team enter, but he didn't quite make it.
