We're leaving in a few days!

What an emotional past four days it's been!  On Friday morning we found out that our Article 5 was issued on Thursday.  All day on Friday we were talking back and forth with our agency, all of us optimistic that by the end of the day we would have a travel and presentation date!  We were so excited!  We were just waiting for the Article 5 to be translated and authenticated.  We told Carlos' teacher on Friday morning that there was a good chance that this would be his last day at school.  As we were driving to pick Carlos up from school, our agency said that it wasn't going to happen today.  We would hopefully be given a presentation date on Monday or Tuesday.  It was such disappointing news, and the peace that I had been feeling over the past couple of days left.  I really struggled all night and into Saturday.  Thankfully Kevin and I had a great time on Saturday night, and were able to push everything aside in our minds and just focus on each other.  We went shopping for a few things for our trip, went out to dinner, and then went salsa dancing for the first time!  It was a lot of fun, and we left feeling more at peace and with a taste of Colombia in our mouths!  :)

Yesterday morning our agency emailed and said that we had clearance from Isabel to travel this coming weekend!  (Isabel is our representative in Colombia who works with families who are adopting from Bethany Christian Services and our agency, Children's Home Society & Family Services.)  We still don't have a presentation date, but hopefully we will soon.  It sounds like it will be next week either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.  We talked with our travel agent at various times yesterday, but had a few questions for our agency that we needed answered before we felt comfortable confirming our flights.  Our agency was closed for President's Day though, so we didn't hear back from them until this morning.  (We were very grateful that our case worker was willing to check her email in the morning to see if Isabel wrote, even though it was her day off.  But we couldn't reach her the rest of the day.  See what I mean about an emotional past couple of days?!)  But today we heard from our agency and talked with our travel agent and we are flying into Bogota on Friday night!!

Please pray that all of the last minute details would come together smoothly, and that I won't drive Kevin and Carlos crazy in my whirlwind state!

Maria, we will be there soon!

Awesome! Sorry for the lack of commenting - life has been crazy - but I am so excited for your time to travel and be together. We'll keep following along and maybe someday be able to meet up with all our fellow Pisingos friends over in Michigan!

Hi guys!
So excited for you all! What a roller coaster ride you have been on, but it looks like it is coming to a stop and you can get off in Colombia soon!! Can't wait to see you guys on skype if it works! Can't wait to meet Maria. Maddie made her a Valentine card and put a hershey bar and pixie stick (pure sugar) in it. I thought that was so cute! Let's talk this week and test skype before you go if we can.

Love you and so happy for you!
