Over the Weekend

Juanita taught Phyllis, Tammy, Rachel, Connie, and I how to make empanadas from scratch.  These are the fruits of our labors, which were served to all the families for lunch that day (Saturday).  Delicious!

A bunch of us were going to take a walk to an indoor artesian market called Maku, and we started to leave when I realized what were still on my feet - slippers!

This is the front of our hotel (where everyone is waiting for me to put my shoes on).

This is a park just around the corner of our hotel.

On Sunday we walked to the outdoor market again, where we found Maria an adorable hat to keep the sun out of her eyes.

Carlos, showing off his new lizard

There were many people at the market who were statues - this couple impressed us the most!

Here is a local musician who we saw at the market both times we've been there.

Our boy!
